It's funny that people discuss whether it's good to win the President's trophy or not.

I don't know how much of a special edge you get from it really in the playoffs (besides the guaranteed home ice factor), but why would you debate that it is not a good thing? Like we've already won it, it's not like we can un-win it at this point. Doesn't it mean that we've watch one helluva hockey team play 82 games this year? The stats say that 30% of teams that have won it have gone on to win the Stanley Cup in recent history. 30% is pretty great odds.

Plus, there's also another stat that every time a Canadian city has hosted an Olympics, within one year they have also won a Stanley Cup. It's happened twice: Montreal and Calgary. Two is a small sample size, I know, but right now, I think that's awesome.
