The Pens have rolled into town, but the fanfare has been a little bit more subdued for Crosby than it was for Ovechkin, non? That's probably because Crosby is not a media whore like Ovechkin is...to each your own.
I remember watching the Stanley Cup final last year at a bar on Broadway, cheering with the whole place (well minus some old guys in Wings jerseys) when MAF made unbelievable save after unbelievable save....well tonight, there will be no cheering for Fleury.
Enemy Blog: Check out my two favorites The Pensblog and the Puck Huffers for all your Penguin commentary. Even if you don't care about the Pens, check them out anyways because their recaps (tPB) and awards (PH) are pretty epic.
The Penguins (30-18-1) have swept Alberta on their Western roadtrip and tonight's game in Vancouver is the last game in their (mostly) Canadian roadtrip. After getting pulled repeatedly, Fleury is back to looking like his normal self, stopping actual pucks. The last game the two teams met was in Pittsburgh in November last year, and it was on that fateful
night afternoon that Luongo had his groin injury. The last time the Pens were in Vancouver was two years ago, and Luongo stopped Crosby on a penalty shot, but the Canucks lost the game in a shootout 2-1.

So far in this trip, Crosby has gotten his 30th goal and has had two marriage proposals.
Classy Edmonton. Classy.
For a good interview with Crosby about the Olympics and marriage proposals, check out the Vancouver Sun.
In the Edmonton game, Fleury fractured his left right finger, did not practice yesterday and is listed as day to day. Their backup Brent Johnson is also listed as day-to-day, so if Fleury doesn't play the Canucks could see John Curry, which might put the PH writers over the moon. Curry was called up from Wilkes-Barre to play as backup or to start.
The powerplay for the Pens has less than stellar for the Pens, actually it's quite dismal sitting at 29th spot, although their record has gotten a bit better after those games against the Flames and the Oilers. The Canucks are ranked 4th on the powerplay at a PP% of 24.7.
Last time the Pens played in Vancouver, every time Crosby touched the puck, some select people in the crowd booed him. Why? Who knows, it's not like we have some hate on the Penguins or on Crosby. I hope people going to the game will have the respect just to enjoy a good game, but there are always a few dumb people at GM Place, so I won't hold my breath. Funny thing is, those same people will be cheering for Sid in less than a month's time at the Olympics.
With regards to the Canucks, Demitra is expected to make his return and should play on a line with Wellwood centering, but no info on who will play the other wing as Bernier is still out with an injury. Willie Mitchell left practice early yesterday with a sore back from the hit by Boogaard in Minnesota the other night, he is expected to play tonight. On the D its looking a little scary non? If Mitchell were out, we'd be back to having SOB considered a top 4 defenceman again....
Oh and Henrik has been a beast lately (if we forget that there was ever a game in Minnesota) and has 20 points in a 10 game point streak he had going there....raaaawwrrrr....
Will we see another marriage proposal tonight? Can anyone do one better than Edmonton? Part III's are never that good, but here's to hoping...
Update at 11:45am:
MAF is not playing tonight, starting in goal will be John Curry with Alexander Pechurski. Who is Pechurski you ask? Well he's the Tri-City Americans goalie that the Pens drafted in the 2008 draft. This Russian goalie was signed to a 1 game tryout contract just for tonight's game.
Update at 5:00pm:
Brooks Orpik is out for tonight, Ben Lovejoy in for him. Cooke is back in Vancouver and I could care less. Cooke was a pussy who wears a visor that refuses to drop the gloves. He was that in Vancouver and he still is in Pittsburgh. Whatever, we have Burrows. 20 goals and 18 assists. Yeah.
Some girl met MAF and Brent Johnson last night at Steamworks in Vancouver. She has a Fleury tattoo. No joke. And she showed it to Fleury. I am not making this sh-t up.
Game time 7pm. I expect goals tonight, lots of goals. And stay classy Vancouver.
